News: Comic-book writer Harvey Pekar dies aged 70

Harvey Pekar, author of the comic series American Splendor, was found dead in his home in Cleveland early today. Pekar wrote about everyday life with perceptive wit and humour, and his life inspired a fantastic film starring Paul Giamatti entitled, funnily enough, American Splendor. His work was cynical and dark and funny, commenting on the minute details of mundane day-to-day life. The film was a brilliant, accurate, moving and hilarious portrait of the mans life and is an absolute must-see. R.I.P Harvey Pekar.
